It’s almost time for the Fort Taber 5k! The race will take place Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 6:30 pm. This is a great twilight event. It is a beautiful run around historic Fort Taber in New Bedford, MA and along the ocean as the sun sets. What a great time for a race!
The race director is Geoff Smith. Goeff is a British long-distance runner who won the Boston Marathon in 1984 and 1985. He competed in the Olympics for Great Britain in the 1980 10,000 m race.
Geoff currently lives in Mattapoisett and is a middle school teacher. He is currently active coaching local runners.
Come and be a part of the race or a spectator and experience the magnificient water views from Clark’s Point. After the race, enjoy the local bars and restaurants in Downtown Historic New Bedford.
T-shirts will be given out to the first 500 entrants.
