Mattapoisett’s Christmas Day Swim and Polar Plunge

Check out these great holiday events that  are coming up according to the Sippican Week!

MATTBold Moves Real Estate, MattapoisettAPOISETT — Helping Hands and Hooves will host the 14th annual Christmas Day Swim at 11 a.m. at Mattapoisett Town Beach. All are welcome to jump into the chilly bay to help Helping Hands continue providing therapeutic horseback riding lessons for adults with disabilities.

Each swimmer is asked to give a donation of $15 (payable on the day of the swim) and the first 75 swimmers will receive a T-shirt. All of the proceeds will go to Helping Hands and Hooves, a nonprofit based in Mattapoisett.

Freezin’ For A Reason polar plunge set for New Year’s Day

MATTAPOISETT — The fourth annual Freezin’ For a Reason polar plunge will take place at Mattapoisett Town Beach on Jan. 1 at noon.

The event raises funds for the hidden costs cancer patients and their families face that are not covered by insurance, such as gas and parking for trips to the hospital and other bills.

All are invited to participate. Creative dress is encouraged.
