Old Rochester Little League held its Opening Day on Saturday at Gifford Park in Rochester, MA. The weather was warm and sunny and the skies were blue when the players, coaches and parents stepped off from Dexter Lane to parade to Gifford Park for Opening Day Ceremonies. Glenn Lawrence did his annual flyover to start off the ceremonies. The first balls were thrown and the season began. This year there are almost 300 kids playing Little League in the towns of Marion, Mattapoisett and Rochester. This includes Majors, Minors, Triple A, Double A, and Single A.
This is the fourth year that the three towns have combined into Old Rochester Little League. The games are played at the fields in all three towns. It’s been a great success and a great opportunity for all the local players.
